You Should Let Your Employees do What to Improve Productivity?!

If you run a business, you’ll know that productivity is the key to success. You’ll also know that productivity can take a huge fall during the course of a day as people get bored and tired. It doesn’t have to be that way!

If you’re willing to take a rather unconventional approach, then you could boost your employees’ productivity by letting them do some, or all, of these things:

Let Them Take Naps

Taking a nap can boost your employees’ productivity immensely by letting them have a little break and giving them the chance to refresh themselves. There are numerous studies, including one by Harvard that back up this fact. So, let them have a 30-minute nap ahead of the second half of the day and see their productivity soar.

Let Them Work from Home

How is that going to boost their productivity when they’ll have so many more distractions and no one looking over their shoulder? Well, for one thing, because they’re working on their own steam, they’re more likely to power through and get things done, so that they won’t have to stay at their desk for as long and for another, they’ll be less bogged down by office politics/chitter-chatter/pointless meetings too. So, consider investing in some decent file management software like the product at https://www.ipswitch.com/secure-file-transfer, invest in some decent malware protection and ask them if they want to work from home. You’ll probably be pleasantly surprised by the results!

Let Them Bring a Pet to Work

You might think that having animals in the workplace will lead to chaos, but as long as you state that the cat or dog must be well behaved and you lay down some ground rules for where they can and cannot go, you could see an upswing in productivity. Why? Because having something cute and furry to pet increases employee wellbeing and lowers the levels of stress in the office. This, obviously, leads to gains in the productivity sphere.

Give Them Instruments to Play

Why on earth would you want to give your employees instruments to play in company time? Because playing an instrument engages multiple areas of the brain, thus priming it for action. After having a go on the guitar or playing the piano for a few minutes, your staff will be firing on all cylinders, and they’ll not only be more productive but much more creative too.

Let Them Have an  Office Cheerleader

Okay, so even I think that this one is totally off the wall, but there are numerous companies in China who are employing desk-side cheerleaders to motivate their employees, as you can see at http://www.esquirecheerleaders/. They make the often stressful workplaces a bit more fun and provide a bit of motivation for the staff. I’, not sure how politically correct such an idea is, nor whether it would fly here, but there’s no harm in putting it out there.

Sometimes, if you want to increase your company’s productivity, you need to think outside the box, and the above ideas are prime examples of that.
